The Indian Institute of Technology (also known as IIT) is a cluster of prestigious academic institutions of the country. It was established through an Act of Parliament for developing distinction in academics. The IIT has published the online registration for the admission test (IIT-JEE 2012). IIT students can log on to the official website of IIT to fill up the online application.

Examination Paper Pattern:The IIT-JEE 2012 question paper consists of two papers, each of which carries three hours of duration. It is generally an objective type examination which consists of multiple choice questions. Both these papers consists of three section - Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The papers are made in such a way to examine the analytical, comprehension and reasoning ability of a student.Students must score at least 10% marks in each of the three subjects - Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics and a minimum aggregate of 35% to calculate the common rank list. Last year the minimum qualifying marks in JEE 2011 were figured out after calculating the average of the marks scored by all the IIT aspirants who wrote the examinations.
